The world this week is an attempt to provide worldly news to kids once a week. The idea behind this is to make them get started on reading world news but it’s written in a child friendly manner and explains some concepts too

India's badminton stars Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap tied the knot in a private ceremony in Hyderabad on Friday, 14 th December. The wedding took place at Saina's residence in Orion villas at Raidurgam in Cyberabad. "It was a small gathering of about 40 guests, including relatives of the Saina and Kashyap's families. It was a very simple ceremony and December 16th was the reception," Saina's father Harvir Singh said. Hockey World Cup

The Hockey World Cup was held from 28 November to 16 December 2018, at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, India. The inauguration ceremony which was held on 27 November 2018, witnessed the biggest ever drone flying show in India. Belgium won the tournament for the first time after defeating the Netherlands 3–2 in the final on a penalty shoot-out after a 0–0 draw. Defending champions Australia won the third place match by defeating England 8–1.There were 157 goals scored in 36 matches, for an average of 4.36 goals per match. AKK new elected leader of German Christian Democratic Union

China makes space exploration history

On 8 th December, China made space exploration history. The country’s space agency launched a lunar-landing mission to the moon’s far side, which is hidden from Earth’s view. The mission aims to gently touch the spacecraft down on the moon’s surface on the far side, a feat that no country has ever attempted. The Chinese moon mission is called Chang’e-4. The name “Chang’e” is that of a mythical lunar goddess and the “4” indicates that this is the fourth robotic mission in China’s decade- long lunar exploration program.
