Process drama was devised by Dorothy Heathcote and Gavin Bolton in the UK in the 60’s.

Imagine a group of learners as experts. It could be a group of anthropologists exploring a fossil or an archaeologist discovering the tomb of an ancient Egyptian king.

Children can’t be experts in the real world but in the fictional world they can take on role of experts and experience being in charge making decisions and bearing responsibility

We will devise a drama based on the experiences learners enjoyed the most

The term ‘oracy’ was coined in the 1960s by Andrew Wilkinson.

It is defined as the ability to express yourself in a range of contexts. Its about having the right vocabulary to speak and the skill to structure your thoughts

In this program we will use a combination of games, simulations, case studies to improve Oracy.

Learn how to talk, structure your speech, summarise information, listen critically and consider addressing different audiences.

We will be discussing current affairs and topical issues in every class and deepen the subject matter knowledge and increase your awareness of what’s happening around you. Each student learns listening skills, respecting others point of view and learns how to make their point confidently based on evidence and research.

With employers now rating communication skills as their highest priority over qualifications, secure your future now.
